Glock 21 Specs - So without much fanfare, I began researching my first firearm with a Springfield XD service model. But when I showed up to the Gunstore, I realized there were so many options. The OD Gen 3 G21 came into my hands and fell in love but I haven't bought it yet. Although my first gun (simply by the first signature of the three, the other two being a third-generation G17 and G22), this older non-sf gen3 made it home in the black. Dry firing quickly confirmed the tungsten rod made it my favorite and at the time Sig never made enough or cheap enough. 2.5k rds later, it's still my favorite handgun, and probably my favorite firearm. For me, the ease of doing so, or the non-exclusive design of it or other miniature models, has always been the reason I chose the Glock and continue to prefer it. The tungsten rod balances out the lighter magazine loads and makes my workouts consistent.

For me things don't get better. In my opinion the Glock 21 is the ultimate .45. Although it's slightly overdone (same as the Glock 20 in 10mm), that's not necessarily a bad thing. The extra beef allows you to put ammo through the day. Length isn't necessarily an issue for concealed carry, and with the right holster system you can carry it all day without too much discomfort. Trust me. I have it and it's not a big problem. The smaller I get in the .45, the more the gun jumps and the less accurate and stable it gets in the hand. Any bigger and it becomes, at least for me, a hidden pregnancy problem. I plan to buy another one with my next paycheck. And after 27 years of concealed carry, the .45 is still the best stopper and the Glock is still the best handgun system I can think of. This is a well worth investment in defense carrying capacity. I just bought my second Glock 21. This pistol is much easier to make than you might expect. It weighs less than a 1911 and holds more ammo. With the right holster they can be easily concealed. This is serious food for thought. The smaller the gun, the more hopeful. This leads to a control problem that could be solved with a larger gun that can dampen recoil and contribute to accuracy. The Gen4 Glock

After wearing the 21 for a few weeks on a daily basis, I've realized it's not the problem many would say. At 28.26 ounces, it is about 11 ounces lighter than a full-size 1911, and about 8 ounces lighter than the Commander. It also carries more ammunition. I bought a belt for it and with a good belt I get to the point where I don't feel like I'm pulling or tugging and I don't have to keep my pants on all day. Although it is a large pistol, it is very well balanced and fills my hand nicely with my standard grip extension. Also, to reiterate, it's a little overpriced (same frame as the 20 in 10mm), but that's not too bad when you realize it can chew and spit +p ammo with no problem.

So. If you consider the 21 a concealed carry handgun, it's not bad at all. Just get a good holster and belt. I hope this helps you.

I've had a Glock 21 for 3 years, and have fed 1,300 rounds into it with no issues. I got a tungsten handlebar assembly, a power slide stop lever, and a clip to get it on my belt in my back. I have a Colt 1911 and although it is a nice shooter, my favorite is the Glock. It is much easier to break than a 1911. You have to be careful in one chamber though. I did get my finger on the trigger once when I was wearing my belt and if I had one in the room I probably would have blown my ass off. I'm practicing pulling it and I'm confident I can get one on quickly.

I bought my Glock 21sf about a year ago and have had it several times. I love this gun and highly recommend it! This gun never fails or quits. It's my everyday bag now.

Good gun with not much recoil. Chews through everything on the first pass. When cleaning on some Generation 4s after the security check, you have to point down, pull the trigger, pull the side tabs, pull the slider. The firing pin is forward and must be to re-slide. Countless Glock owners suffer from the same problem. You must deal with the mechanics of Homeland Security. Just wish it was in the manual or so someone told me. not important. Good gun with accuracy and reliability.

I want to explain what this wonderful weapon is. The sliding unit is a silent point. Some weapons need a key, some have a key, and some have levers. Glock introduced the G21 SF (Short Frame) in 2007 to compete for the Department of Defense contract. It didn't drop the decade, but the firearm has gained traction among both law enforcement and civilians due to its unique features. Based on the Generation 3 Glock 21, the company has made only a few modifications to this variant. We fired and operated a Glock 21 SF for this Glock 21 review.

Among the modifications to the Glock 21 SF, the most notable (as the name suggests) is the smaller frame circumference. Not to be confused with frame width, the short frame offers less frame depth than the Gen 3 version of the Glock 21. The shorter frame depth allows those with smaller hands to have adequate gripping and reach features. On newer generations (Gen 4), the Glock 21's grip length is nearly identical to that of the G21 SF.

As mentioned earlier, the Glock 21 SF is chambered in one of the “big boy” calibers – .45 ACP. Most shooters know the 45 ACP as a classic caliber, and many self-defense shooters still rely on the cartridge today.

Glock 21 Review

Glock blends tradition and ability in the Glock 21 SF. A capacity of 13 + 1 is offered in the Glock 21 SF — a seemingly reasonable number given the frame size.

Another unique aspect of the Glock 21 SF is the inclusion of an ambidextrous magazine release. While this feature is convenient, I felt like the functionality was missing. I'll go into this in more detail later in the review. Few Glock 21 SFs are designed with a Picatinny rail for mounting accessories—there aren't many left, and holster compatibility isn't an issue.

Many of the Glock 21 SF variants available today are from police departments that have rotated them out of service. These deals can be found for as little as $350-400 in some places - no doubt a great bargain.

Do You Run A Suppressed Glock?

Companies that manufacture and sell suppressors are hard to fight. They work against the popular belief that these products are the most convenient tool for secretly killing people and that there is little reason to own one other than to "kill secretly" or "take over Nakatomi Plaza ". But after a few hours of shooting, we came up with the idea that suppressors are useful even for casual gun owners. Even if you're not guny at all, the technology that steals so much of the gun's message sound is fascinating.

This technology is why we came up with the range. It's obviously not "Gun Tech" and most of the time we don't look for advancements to get weapons. But really, getting the chance to test suppressors on a dozen different guns to find out how they all performed was too much to resist. So we went to Austin and met up with Schauble, who really brought a smorgasbord of firearms and suppressors made by SilencerCo.

If Jason Schauble's name sounds familiar, it's not the first time he's run Ars. Schauble is the former CEO of TrackingPoint, a company that makes highly accurate (and expensive) Linux-powered firearms. We last wrote about TrackingPoint back in August, when the company took some time off from preparing its AR-15 carbines. At the time, we mentioned that Schauble had left the company a few months ago, but we didn't go into it.

He arrived at SilencerCo, working as its chief revenue officer in the company's Austin branch in Utah. His past experience at Remington and Advanced Armament Corporation (not to mention his active duty in the Marine Corps) seems to have prepared him well for the job. When we entered the Best of the West range—the same range we shot with the TrackingPoint—Schauble had a long table with guns and ladders.

SilencerCo is a major player in a seemingly under-the-radar industry. Although it employs only 125 people, the company has about 40 percent of the domestic suppressor market, and is therefore responsible for a large portion of the more than 100,000 suppressors purchased each year in the United States. The company has been selling suppressors since 2009, and it's a growing market. According to marketing materials provided by SilencerCo, suppressor sales in the United States are growing at about 20 percent a year. SilencerCo was originally started by Josh Waldron and Jonathan Schultz, two fellow photographers and audio technicians. A couple of suppressors were frustrated with both the buying process and the lack of customer service from existing suppressor manufacturers (so they wanted their company to do better). One of the first products the duo designed and built was the Osprey Suppressor, an "eccentric" non-circular suppressor that stood out in a line of normally single-sided cylindrical suppressors. "Eccentric" here means that the bullet hole does not go through the middle of the step. SilencerCo made this choice because most cylindrical scopes extend beyond the front sight of the rifle, obscuring them and making effective aiming difficult. The Osprey's design removes most of this by placing it under the hood and using a rifle scope.
